Love is in the Air: February ’18 Blog

Hey everyone! We are so excited about our T&O revamp! One of the first things we are trying out is our new T&O Newsletter and once a month blog! The newsletter is a short view of the full blog (which is this)! Each month we will be showcasing some fun organizational tips, a new recipe for you to try, a DIY activity, and T&O Sales! We are going to be doing the blog a few different ways, then we will send out a survey to see what you prefer!

Love is in the air this February!! The best part about Valentine’s day is YOU DON’T HAVE to BE IN A RELATIONSHIP to enjoy it!!! I know this is an ENTIRELY new concept to a lot of you, and I used to be the “I hate Valentines Day” and “Singles Awareness Day” person too. But think about it, you may not have a romantic significant other, but you have tons of other relationships! Your BFF, your family, even your neighbors! This month we are looking into ways to celebrate ALL of our relationships and the people we love!

Lifestyle Tip:

Watch the video to get Ali’s Valentine’s Day Look!

You all are going to LOVE this!! This month, I got one of my best friends, Ali, to do a Valentines Makeup tutorial! Trust me, she is the best! She shows several different ways to do your Valentines Day makeup, but what I really love is this look is simple enough to wear anytime!! I am not a huge makeup wearer, but I learned SO MUCH from watching this video!! Seriously- wait for the eyeliner part!!

Recipe of the Month:

For Valentines Day, we were wanting a nice dinner! But- we didn’t want to have to spend the money to go out! So I whipped up this Pork Chop and pasta in the slow cooker, made some delicious (and easy!) rolls and salads, and made a wonderful dinner! I’ve crash tested it, revamped it, and am ready to share the recipes with you! Bonus- look like a Valentine’s Day Pro with my easy creme brulee recipe (you’re welcome). Check it out under the Recipe’s tab, or Click Here!

This month, we have a “Lovely” (see what I did there?) T-shirt for you! This shirt is screen printed, then an HTV heart (your color choice) is layered on top! These are perfect for your Valentines/Galentines parties, but they also look cute enough to wear year round! All you have to do is go to the SHOP HERE and choose your shirt size and heart color!

For February, the first batch will be shipped on February 7th (our last day for Valentines Delivery!), then the second batch will be shipped February 28th.

What’s on Sale?

We have something SO SPECIAL for this month! We have released Hand Stamped Penny Keychains! These took A LOT of practice, but am so happy to finally be releasing them! Easy Valentine’s for Everyone!

It’s that time of year! That time where we trade chocolates and other candy in exchange for more chocolates and candy! Most people go to their neighborhood superstore, buy a 30 pack of pre-made Valentines, write your name on it and call it good. But this year, I’m going to teach you an easy way to DIY your own Valentine’s and make them stand out! Perfect for your kids, coworkers, neighbors, classmates, and friends!

What You’ll Need:

  • Fold-able cardstock
  • Scissors (or cutting machine)
  • Washi Tape
  • Ghirardelli Chocolates
  • T&O Template
  • Decorative Stickers

  1. If you’re using the template I’ve provided, print it out on a regular 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper.
  2. Cut out the template, making sure you can still see the fold marks! (Red=cut, black=fold)
  3. Trace the template onto the back side of the cardstock (for a 12×12 piece of cardstock you should be able to fit 3 of the templates!)
  4. Cut out the template (make sure you made a dent, score, or mark where the fold lines are!). Once your template is cute out, you can fold along the fold lines!
  5. This creates a little pocket, and a closing flap. Place the chocolate inside, the pocket part, and tape down the flap. To close the edges, wrap the Washi tape around the little envelope.
  6. Place a decorative sticker on the front, add a name and who it’s from, and you have yourself a classy homemade Valentine in minutes!
  7. Share a pic on Facebook and tag us (@Trendy And Organized), send it to us in a private message, or tag us on Instagram using #TrendyAndOrganized or tag us @TrendyOrganized!
