2. What is your personal favorite & why?

I love our accessories and in particular the Big Sky Love necklace, Pine Silhouette Earrings and Mountain Home necklace. We began as a handmade jewelry line and the brand has evolved to include apparel, home goods, hats, etc. BUT the jewelry is where it all began. I used to handsaw and create every single piece that left my studio. Now we produce thousands of pieces each year!

3. Tell us about your donations to the Glacier Park Conservancy, & why you do it!

We donate 5% of our retail sales to the Glacier Park Conservancy. GNP serves as an inspiration for our line and we love giving back to this place that is so special to our community – and to our nation. I personally moved to the area over 12 years ago to work at Glacier Park for the summer. It is what first drew me to Montana and the place that I now call home. So it truly is personal for me!

4. What is your favorite Montana adventure?

My family and I love spending time in Glacier National Park and in particular floating the North Fork of the Flathead River. There is something about that wilderness that reinvigorates me. We camp there multiple times a year and consider it a very special place.

5. Your kids clothing is so cute! What is your daughters favorite outfit?

Oh it changes with every season! Right now my daughter, a WILD child who serves as the inspiration for the kid’s clothing line, is really in to hiking and camping and all things outdoors. We love the Hiking Buddy and Camp Host tees!

Corvidae Drawings & Designs

If you guys think my screen printed stuff is cool, you’re going to LOVE this Montana Maker! Even though she runs an awesome business and has super amazing designs, she still HAND PULLS all of her products! (This means she doesn’t have a machine do the printing for her). Seriously guys, I am floored. So prepare to be impressed, and learn a little more about Corvidae Drawings & Designs!

2. What is your personal favorite product & why?
My favorite design is the Mountain Goat on top of the Mountains. It was a fun little sketch to do and inspired by my hikes in Glacier and the Beartooths where I’m able to walk along beside these incredible animals. He’s also pretty cute (the mountain goat in the sketch). And the image translates well on various products I make. That image makes me happy. But my favorite product? Probably the wrapping paper sheets. I’m OBSESSED with wrapping papers and love making gifts look pretty and I think it’s pretty neat I can design my own and actually use it! 🙂
3. What got you started drawing/designing?
I’ve always been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil and I knew I was going to be an artist since I was a little girl. I had grand plans to grow up, paint and draw, and do my own thing with art.  It’s like breathing for me. I can’t not draw. I have all these ideas and images in my head all the time and the constant desire
With the business –     A few years ago, I was with a friend, shopping for some fun decorative wrapping paper sheets, when she commented that I could just as easily make my own and ought to. The light bulb went off and I started designing and doodling. Wrapping paper led to tea towels, which led to pillows, which led to totes, and so on and so forth. Corvidae was born and the drawing and designing hasn’t stopped! I have so many ideas that I want to do!
4. What inspires you?
EVERYTHING.  Seriously, everything! The way some cows look in a field or a quote I see on Pinterest or a comment or suggestion a customer will make (that’s why I made the mushroom design). I’m always drawing and have a LOT of ideas that I’m constantly thinking about/working on. It’s a lot of fun and never ending! Inspiration is everywhere!
5. What is your favorite place in Montana?
It’s a tie. The Northfork/Bowman Lake. There are SO few people up there compared to other areas of the park and it is just as beautiful. Great hiking and Bowman Lake is STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love love love it. The other area that is my favorite are the Beartooth Mountains. I went backpacking for many summers all over those mountains with my cousins for years. It’s where I fell in love with Backpacking and fell in love with remote lakes and valleys. It’s gorgeous and the vistas are incredible!
